YOU WEREN’T MADE TO DO THIS ALONE

We help pastors and ministry leaders exchange STRIVING, SHAME, & WORRY for

REST, AUTHENTICITY & COURAGE

Coaching with Three Swallow Leadehip

  • Personal Connection

We love pastors! Having served where you are serving, I know that having a place to be honest, authentic and vulnerable is tough to come by. I’d like to be that kind of person for you.

  • Gospel Saturation

I’m a pastor. I don’t want to “run you through a program.” I want to point you to Jesus. Real change for all of us starts with the good news of Jesus, and that’s at the core of our coaching philosophy.

  • Practical Solutions

As integrated leaders we serve with our head, heart, and hands. We don’t want to neglect any part of that. Sometimes we need someone to process the practical nuts and bolts of ministry. We’re here for that too.

I’ve been there…

With over 20 years of pastoral ministry experience, I’ve experienced seasons of growth and flourishing and seasons of immense pain and struggle, just trying to keep my head above the water. I’ve learned a lot over the past two decades…through success AND failure! One of the most important things I have learned is this: I wasn’t made to do ministry alone. Neither were you.

Through coaching with organizations like Leaders Collective and Acts 29, I have developed passion and skill to help leaders flourish in ministry. I am passionate not just for professional flourishing, but to help leaders flourish as integrated followers of Jesus, husbands, fathers, and pastors. I’d love the opportunity to walk with you in this next season of your ministry and help you discover how to lead out of a place of REST, AUTHENTICITY, & COURAGE.

Three Swallow Leadership

It’s said that sailing ship captains, as early as the 18th Century, would often look to enlist sailors on their ships who had barn swallows tattooed on their chests. If a man had one swallow tattoo it meant that he had survived sailing 5,000 nautical miles.  If he had two swallows then he could boast 10,000 nautical miles. These were men who had been through it. These sailors were valued because they represented courage, experience, and the ability to solve the problems that would be faced in this new journey.

Ministry leadership can often feel like navigating uncharted waters. We find ourselves searching for reliable guides who have shown marks of maturity and leadership, who have the swallow tattoos, to show us the way to go.

Three times in scripture Jesus tells us that His work is done. In Genesis 2, we hear that God rested because he was done.  On the cross, Jesus proclaimed, “It is finished” and in Revelation 21 at the coming of the New Heavens and New Earth, we hear Jesus proclaim, “It is done!” If ever there was a capable guide through the uncertain waters of ministry, it is Jesus. He has THREE SWALLOWS inked to his chest. As we look together to him, the gospel tells us that we aren’t just shown the way we are gifted new hearts for the mission he calls us into.

These three completed works of Jesus are what undergird our philosophy in coaching and our hope for holistic health for Christian leaders.

  • Jesus’ completed work in creation is freedom from STRIVING and an invitation to REST.

  • Jesus’ completed work in the cross is freedom from SHAME and an invitation to AUTHENTICITY.

  • Jesus’ completed work in the coming of the New Heavens and the New Earth is freedom from WORRY and an invitation to COURAGE.

Your experience in ministry is likely not the same as mine, but I wonder if there are ways that you find yourself, like me, pulled toward striving, shame, and worry. I wonder if you, like me, are longing to lead from a place of rest, if you hunger to be your authentic self, or if you need courage for the work that God has entrusted to you.

I want to invite you to discover again, or maybe for the first time, what it means when God says that it is finished. I want to invite you to discover what it could mean to bear in your flesh the image of a work that you never did, never could, but is counted toward you. I would love to walk with you in this season of ministry, to listen, to share, to pray, and to point you to the one who finished the work.
